Pour Over Coffee Culture: Wordmark

(magazine publication in process)

Using typographic and design attributes, a magazine publication wordmark was made based on coffee culture. The concept is about informing people on different cultures around the world that include traditions of coffee into their lifestyles, as well as the sustainability and environmental efforts farmers are striving for. This publication’s audience is for everyone, whether your go to is Dunkin’ on the morning or if you’re brewing gourmet espresso to start your day.

Process

The final idea chosen was a coffee culture publication, blending how coffee is treated and looks around the world, and what traditions revolve around this drink. Additionally, I wanted to include a sustainability aspect to it, so it mixes culture with science.

Digital Freeplay

To fit within the concept, the typeface had to be organic, sophisticated, and inviting. Focusing on detail to show artistry and craftsmanship of coffee, these typefaces were chosen to begin.
